I'm currently unable to work (transcription) as VIQ won't enable my Infinity foot pedal on my new Windows 11 system. Clicking 'enable foot pedal' just gives me the error message "failed to enable foot pedal." A technician from my company has managed to get it working twice, but each time it resets itself and un-enables it every time I close and reopen the program. Definitely not a problem with the pedal itself, as it works fine with FTR player. Additionally, the Help file doesn't work, so I can't find any help or support for this issue, which really isn't acceptable. Until now I've been happy with VIQ - I'd give it four to five stars if it worked - but without it, I can't work, so I only hope the technician from work can find a permanent solution or an alternative program.
VIQ Player does not play well in Windows 11 when using an Infinity foot pedal (or any pedal for that matter.) Lack of support has been a huge problem with this product. If anyone is struggling with the same issues I had, I'm sorry. Your best bet is to run the program on a deprecated version of Windows and find a different solution because VIQ isn't it.
Cannot play ES files even after conversion, but do something about your hotkeys. We transcriptionists need hotkeys that can be accessed by hitting one key, not two, and the ones you have are useless really to help speed up typing. What I have with ES, F3 is 150%, F4 Stop, F10 play regular speed, F11 50% speed. Different speakers may be need to be sped up or slowed down. To have to stop typing to click with a mouse is a waste of a ton of time in a 3-hour audio. Fix this and I'd use VIQ always except when I'm forced to due to file type.
Since my laptop did an automatic upgrade to Windows 11 I have not been able to use the app even though it says it has installed successfully. Very frustrating!
It took me a while to work out what I was doing with this software. Once you get your file loaded its audio quality is excellent but it's missing the option to copy the time stamp - I can not see where to do this so you have to actually type the time stamp in where needed. This can sometimes be a deal-breaker as to whether I use this software or not.
Had to start using this for work and got an error message that there's no device driver. Had to reload all files and restart the player. Waiting for support to contact but nothing has worked, even uninstalling and reinstalling. Using a USB foot pedal as well.
